Service Description
NTDSE Physical Therapy services are provided for students whose neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, and/or sensorimotor challenges impact educational progress and successful participation in the educational environment. The goal of our program is to provide students with the tools and support needed to develop the skills and functional independence they need to meet their potential.
Goals reflect the assessed needs of each student. Physical therapy focuses on functional mobility and access as it relates to the student’s strength, balance, coordination, posture, mobility, positioning, and ability to safely navigate and participate in the educational environment. Services are provided by Physical Therapists (PTs) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs). PTs directly supervise and collaborate with PTAs to support students in meeting their educationally relevant goals.
All NTDSE Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants are appropriately licensed to practice in the State of Illinois.
